About me
My name is Sarah and I am a self taught artist born and raised in Washington state. I have always been a creative person who struggled to find a career path that suited my needs to dream, design, build and create things. I was always told that you can’t make a living as an artist and that I needed a “secure job with a retirement plan” to make it in life.
One day, while on shift as a volunteer firefighter working towards a career in the fire service, I picked up a pencil and began drawing - the first time in over 10 years. That drawing of a 1960’s Corvette Stingray, reignited my passion for all things art and creativity.
I finally decided to pursue art again and I am so thankful I did. Without the support of my friends, family, husband and coworkers (those in the Emergency Department through Covid!), I would not be where I am today. I am forever grateful for the support and encouragement from everyone to pursue my art.
I absolutely love drawing and painting cars, vans, semi trucks, heavy machinery, landscapes, horses and dog flaps. An eclectic blend of talent, yes.
I’ve been honored with drawing Rainbow Bridge Portraits for those who have lost their fur babies. It is meaningful pieces like this that make me love being an artist. I stepped away from my art for a while after losing both my grandpa and mom within 10 months of each other in 2023. I have been navigating grief myself but creating art of loved fur babies gives me a sense of purpose.
I have a restored 1975 Chevy G20 van as my mobile art studio where I hope to set up and sell my art at local PNW farmers markets, car shows and art markets!
In my spare time I also enjoy woodworking, designing, gardening, weightlifting, live music, collecting swag lamps and velvet chairs and almost anything DIY. I am also a mother to countless house plants, 13 chickens, 4 cats: Mama, Tater Tot, Queso and Gouda, a rescue XL bully named Bruce, Leroy the Ball Python and Mr. Fox the arthritic horse.
